Indulge in the rich, gooey goodness of Chocolate Molten Lava Cakes. These decadent cakes are perfect for a special dessert occasion or whenever you crave a chocolatey delight. The warm, flowing chocolate center is a delightful surprise in every bite.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • Cooking spray for greasing ramekins

Instructions:

Set the oven temperature to 425F 220C

Melt the butter and semi-sweet chocolate in a bowl that is safe to use in the microwave

Stir and heat for 20 seconds at a time until smooth

Allow it to cool down a little

Beat the eggs, egg yolks, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar together thoroughly in a separate bowl

While continuously whisking, slowly add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture

Mix in the flour and a small pinch of salt until just incorporated

To keep them from sticking, lightly dust four ramekins with flour or cocoa powder after greasing them with cooking spray

Fill the ramekins that have been prepared evenly with batter

Bake for 12 to 14 minutes in a preheated oven, or until the center is still soft and slightly jiggly but the edges are set

After taking the lava cakes out of the oven with care, allow them to cool for a minute

After slicing the cakes loose with a knife, turn each ramekin upside down onto a plate to pour out the molten lava cakes

Sprinkle with powdered sugar, garnish with a scoop of ice cream or fresh berries, and serve right away
