Pour the batter into each of the doughnut pan's cavities, filling them about two thirds of the way
When a toothpick inserted into a doughnut comes out clean, bake for 12 to 15 minutes
Make the sugar coating with chai spices while the doughnuts are baking
Combine all of the chai spices cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg with the granulated sugar in a shallow bowl
When the doughnuts are done, slide them onto a wire rack after allowing them to cool in the pan for a few minutes
While still warm, brush each doughnut with a small amount of vegan butter that has melted, then dip it into the sugar mixture that has been spiced with chai to coat it evenly
Reposition the coated doughnuts onto the wire rack to finish cooling
