Ingredients:

  • 12 baked cupcakes your choice of flavor
  • 1 cup of white icing
  • Assorted colored icing red, green, yellow, blue
  • 12 small pretzel sticks
  • 1/4 cup of mini M&M's
  • Black decorating gel

Instructions:

Prepare 12 cupcakes of your desired flavor and allow them to cool completely

Spread a thin layer of white icing on top of each cupcake as a base for the lights

Using the assorted colored icing, create small circles resembling Christmas lights on top of the white icing

You can use a piping bag with a round tip for precision

Place a mini M&M in the center of each colored circle to represent the light's glow

Break the pretzel sticks into smaller pieces to create the light string

Press one end of each pretzel stick into the icing on the cupcake to form the string, leaving the other end hanging off the cupcake

Using black decorating gel, draw small lines connecting the lights to the string, making them look like Christmas lights on a string

Repeat this process for all 12 cupcakes

Allow the icing and decorating gel to set before serving

Your Christmas Lights Cupcake Toppers are now ready to delight your guests!
